West Orange Daily Bread

The Christian Service center is a private, non-profit service agency which, since 1971, has provided the hurting of our community with programs designed to meet physical, emotional and spiritual needs. The Center is supported by area churches, businesses, civic organizations, foundations and individuals. Millions have been served regardless of race, religion, financial status or the nature of their need.

The West Orange Daily Bread Program (WODB) is a part of the Christian Service Center of Central Florida, Inc. Serving the Ocoee area, WODB provides a the homeless and hungry of our community with a hot and nourishing meal throughout the year. St. Luke's provides volunteers to serve and clean up the noon meal Tuesday through Thursday on the third full week of each month.

St. Luke's involvement
On the third week of every month, St. Luke's volunteers serve meals at the West Orange Life Center in Ocoee. Between 200 –250 people eat at this facility five times a week. Volunteers (middle school age and older) are needed between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00p.m. to help prepare and serve lunch, and clean up. Directions

  1. From Apopka-Vineland Road go north to Old Winter Garden Rd.
  2. LEFT on Old Winter Garden Rd.
  3. RIGHT on Maguire Rd.
  4. Stay on Maguire through three traffic lights; when you come to the "fork" in the road, stay left.
  5. RIGHT at the third light (Kangaroo Gas Station is on your left)
  6. Christian Service Center is the third building on your RIGHT (two house proceed the facility)
  7. Take the 2nd entrance, and park near the playground
  8. Enter the door that says Volunteer Entrance
    Make your way to the kitchen (which is on the left side of the building as you enter)

39 Gallon Garbage Bags
1 Gallon Zip-Lock Bags
Quart Size Zip-Lock Bags
13-15 Gallon Kitchen Garbage Bags
Salad Dressing
