Deploy Ministries
Do justice: love kidness: walk humbly with God. Micah 6:8
St. Luke's success in Kingdom Building will be measured by the extent to which gifted, committed, and enthusiastic disciples of Jesus Christ are deployed as servant ministers in faithful obedience to God's will, while witnessing to God's mercy, justice and love.

Coalition for the Homeless

St. Luke’s Involvement

St. Luke's has been supporting Coalition for the Homeless since early 1990. On the third Saturday of every month, St. Luke's volunteers, led by Beth Ely (who has been the lay leader for over 10 years) cooks a wonderful meal for the families who are staying at the shelter in downtown Orlando. This meal consists of home made food from family recipes that Beth's family has passed down to her from generation. Food is also made for the men's shelter.

Did you know that…
  • One out of every four people at the Coalition is a child, with the average age being 8 years old.
  • The Coalition provides many more services than food and shelter. The clients receive job training and placement, GED and vocational training, individual counseling, parenting classes and a fully licensed day care.
  • That 88% of every dollar goes to support client services.
  • That 72% of every service dollar is spent on programs and services for women and children.
  • The Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida is able to serve over 800 clients per night at its two Orlando campuses..
